Rules/Holiday
Schedule
Here
are a few "rules of the road" to help you
ride smart:
The
Basics
Planning
Your Trip You can use a bus schedule to help
you plan your trip. Schedules will tell you where you
can board the bus, where you can get off of the bus,
the times that you can travel and the fare you will
need. Schedules are available on board all buses, at
the Down Town Bridgeport Terminal or on this site (view
schedules).
Boarding
the Bus Be sure to be at the bus stop at
least five minutes ahead of the scheduled time.
Bus stop sign are located every few blocks throughout
the service area. After the bus has come to a complete
stop, it is safe to board. Board the bus using the front
door and pay the proper fare.
Getting
a Transfer Ask the driver for a transfer,
if needed, when you board the bus. A transfer is needed
if you must take a second bus to get to your final destination.
Transfers are free for the continuation of a one-way
trip and can be used on any bus except the bus of origin.
Transfers must be used within 70 minutes from the time
a driver gives it to you.
Getting
off the Bus about one block from your bus
stop, signal the drivers to stop and let you off by
pressing the rubber strip next to the window or pulling
down the cord above the window. A chime will sound to
alert the driver. The driver will pull over at the next
available stop to let you off. Please do not stand
up until the bus has come to a complete stop. Get off
the bus at the rear door Watch out for local
traffic!
Fares
The
following fares are in effect as of September 1, 2005. All fares are
exact change or token only. Drivers do not carry change.
